Gone too soon.

“शराफत की दुनिया का किस्‍सा ही खतम, अब जैसी दुनिया वैसे हम”

-Irrfan Khan, Jazbaa

I have taken Irrfan Khan’s death very personally.

My heart is heavy and I feel gutted. I was shocked that this affected me so much that I had tears in my eyes, and then I saw this post online which said everyone is gutted, everyone is shook and everyone is in pain.

That is when I realised, this feeling of failure, of loss, of pain is evidence for our vulnerable hearts at this moment.

Irrfan Khan was the standing example of success that only real talent and hard work brought. What do I say of his acting skills, to me, even his voice was majestic as Baloo from The Jungle Book.

He was a true artist, and that’s why we feel this massive vacuum today.

Besides, these are uncertain times; the world is upside down; there’s so little hope and optimism left; we are losing patience, time and now, today, this precious superstar.

While most of us are holding on to our sanity through little wins and successes, this is another loss, one we weren’t prepared for.

Kobe was taken away too soon, and now Sir Irrfan Khan.

Our hearts were not ready to loose one more inspiration. I am angry at the universe.

Even though I am really upset with the Gods for testing our patience by taking away from us a true gem when we clearly needed a win, my faith tells me all of this is for a reason. Perhaps Irrfan Khan was needed more in the heavens than here.

But this is for those like you and me; who still have to live through this hell on earth,

Breathe.

It will all be okay.

You will be okay.

This is a test of your perseverance and faith.

Trust me my love, this too shall pass.

Even though we lost today, we shall celebrate a win soon.

Just breathe.

You are allowed to breakdown in tears.

You are allowed to feel frustrated.

You are allowed to be all over the place.

This is scary, but only temporary.

Breathe.

Just breathe.

Even though gone too soon, Irrfan Khan will be remembered and cherished forever. And when the world will fall back into normalcy, he will look down at us with that peculiar smile of his and those large humble eyes.

“Doubt is useful. It keeps faith a living thing. After all, you cannot know the strength of your faith until it has been tested.”

-Irrfan Khan, Life of Pi
