Girls from good families don’t abuse

·

Just me ranting:))

Girls from good families don’t abuse.

11 years old, I hear these boys calling each other names that I didn’t get

I heard a similar one when my elder sister was hanging out with her friends

So I ask them what it meant

She was about to tell me but her friend- a boy to be specific said

“It is a bad word, you don’t need to know because

Girls from good families don’t abuse.”

Found what these bad words were and meant at 13

The famous BC MC were now starting to sound offensive

Even though these abuses were about girls but

Girls from good families don’t abuse.

16 years old, I get into a fight with a boy

Both of us spit abuses at each other

But only one gets in trouble and

You guessed it right- it was me; because

Girls from good families don’t abuse.

A male teacher looks me in the eyes and has the audacity to call my upbringing poor

But the boy is told that it is okay to use that language “jokingly” with other boys but never girls

He tells me no one would respect me if my tongue was so disrespectful “for my own good”

And then gives me another chance to start acting like a “proper” girl

But you see, I abuse and

Girls from good families don’t abuse.

Which clearly means I am not a “proper” girl

Fun fact-

When abusing a female, people use gaalis that attack their improper character but

When abusing a male, people use gaalis that attack the the women in their lives’ improper characters

The double standards oof!

18 years old and I still have to be reminded that

Girls from good families don’t abuse

Because you see I went to the same school as the boys from good families,

I attended the same parties,

Went to the same tuition classes,

Was in the same friend circle,

And all these years,

All these experiences and yet I have never heard the phrase

Boys from good families don’t abuse

It is always

Girls from good families don’t abuse

News flash-

They do.

Girls from good families abuse just as much as the next good boy when they are frustrated, angry, upset, or tired

And if you want to be moral police and judge people

Then judge me and the boys because we both abuse

It does not make them cool and me improper, it cannot

It is either acceptable for both to give gaalis or neither.

Let’s get one thing straight,

Abusing, in general, is distasteful and unkind

Abuses attacking women are really offensive even if they come from a woman’s mouth

How about we change the “Girls from good families don’t abuse” to just DON’T ABUSE?
